ERRS: Eschaton Ready Response System

Family Bug Out Plan – Communications Guide – Steps of Survival

ERRS is a means to plan for life altering events in order to maintain communications among family & friend’s households while assessing sustainability to determine when to shelter in place, bugout, or merge resources. While contact among households is key, ERRS creates 3 incident based Categories with a set of actionable plans when comms are down. The Actions work in concert with predefined Rally Points and “What If” scenarios so that all affected parties can reunite or self-sustain.

Bottom Line Up Up Front (BLUF): Instructions for implementing ERRS.

  1. ERRS is composed of multiple House Holds (HHs) or ERRS Members (EM). When Life Altering Events (LAEs) occur each HH may have a varying degree of experience, resources, and security. ERRS works to utilize the HHs strengths to ensure all are can sustain the event.
  2. During an LAE; If comms are established formulate actions based on current knowledge.
  3. If comms are down; refer to the Categories (CATs).
  4. Identify and determine your current CAT, initiate the Action Plan (AP) for that CAT.
  5. APs create an order of precedence for how to make contact, when to bug out, and what steps to take as time progresses.
  6. APs incorporate meeting at Rally Points (RPs) or following the Bug Out Guideline (BOG) during pre-planned “What If” scenarios.
  7. The end goal of ERRS is to reestablish contact, find resources, and appropriate shelter.

Initial Setup for ERRS: How to complete this template.

  1. Decide who’s in your circle. Meet with all members and complete the following together.
  2. Collect contact information of all HHs and then assign callsigns.
  3. Determine “Rally Points”. These can be your circle’s homes, landmarks, or a central bugout shelter.
  4. Develop “What If” Scenarios for threats specific to your group.
  5. Agree upon a communication code. Record it on Page 7.
  6. Save and distribute master copy. Download digital file and print hardcopy; then securely store until needed.
  7. While completing this document please note all RED text is meant for illustrative purpose only.

LAE: A Life Altering Event is anything that causes a severe change in the requirements needed to survive. This could be the extended loss of power requiring you to cook and heat over a fire or it could be a National Curfew enacted following a Domestic Terrorist Attack. In many cases a LAE could cause a breakdown of communications among yourself and family/friends.

this is ok for the most simple of a plan. would probably work best when done in a group. Granted it is easy to get overwhelmed with this stuff but this is a good start.
